Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MedScheduler — the website at medscheduler.app and the web application at app.medscheduler.app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What MedScheduler is

MedScheduler is a scheduling tool that helps hospital departments build, balance, and publish monthly on-call rotas. It automates rota generation according to rules configured by department administrators.

2. What MedScheduler is not

MedScheduler is an administrative scheduling tool only. It does not provide medical advice, clinical decision support, or patient care functionality, and it is not a medical device. Responsibility for staffing decisions, compliance with employment law, working-time regulations, and local hospital policies remains entirely with the department and its administrators. Always review generated rotas before publishing them.

3. Accounts and access

• Access to the web application is granted by workspace administrators. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
• You must provide accurate information and use the Service only on behalf of a department or organisation you are authorised to act for.
• We may suspend or terminate access for misuse, security reasons, or breach of these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes not attempting to gain unauthorised access to other workspaces or accounts, not disrupting or overloading the Service, not reverse-engineering it, and not using it to store or transmit unlawful content or patient-identifiable clinical data. The Service is designed to hold staff scheduling information, not patient records.

5. Your content

Data entered into the Service — physician names, availability, leave, rules, and schedules — belongs to you and your organisation. You grant MedScheduler the right to store and process this data solely to operate the Service. See the Privacy Policy for details on how data is handled.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by MedScheduler and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the Service other than the right to use it as intended.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. Departments should keep independent copies (e.g., Excel exports) of published rotas.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Generated schedules are suggestions based on the rules you configure; we do not warrant that they satisfy any legal, contractual, or regulatory staffing requirement.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedScheduler shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate the Service or your access to it as described in these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 8, and 9) will survive.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the mandatory law of your own jurisdiction applies.
